They will eat prity much anything. They are usually Omnivores.
The European weather loach is a Carnivore, but i dont think you will find this in your LFS.

Weather loaches would be one of my faverite fish, full of caracter.


This one is about 8" at the moment.

Weather Loaches 2 Years, 5 Months ago  
Finally picked up pair of loaches put them in pond will let you know how they get on during week

Didn'yt know there were different types there just like the ones in your photo sasme colour aswell if thats any help quite difficult to spot now i have put them in pond can take a while to find?

They should grow quite quickly in your pond.
If you have an open pipe in your pond that leeds to a pump you may want to cover it to stop them swimming up it.

How about Golden Tench ??

Joes place in ballybough sells them,,,apparently they grow to about a foot in length, beautiful color,,can be shy to start off with but then become quite tame...so Ive heard,,,no personal experience of them
