Hi,

The light unit on Trigon 190 stopped working yesterday.
The tank is about two years old, bulbs are fairly new.

I tried changing the fuse & bulbs to no avail..

I'm not sure there's anything more I can do with it other than write it off - any suggestions?

Wow - thanks for the offer Adriano - where would I have to bring it to?

The problem I have of course is time..
I am in the process of packing up my house at the moment as I'm moving in a couple of weeks so I am constantly busy..

Is there anything I could try to fix it myself this evening or does it generally need someone with experience like yourself to fix them?

firs question is t5 or t8? light
if their is elektronik balast in that will cost you from 30 to 70e for new balast, and giness for me

I can never remember which is which...

It is the thicker of the two types. Guinness is no problem

16mm t5 more it t8 and t12

It would be the most popular sized tube - same diameter would be used in flourescent office lighting.

My cichlids get super aggressive when the light is off.
I've had to cover the tank with a blanket to prevent them fighting, the noise from the tank last night was unreal with fish splashing on the surface...

Was looking at the lighting on my Juwel Lido 120 this morning and as far as I can see it's a fully sealed unit

Can you get in there at the electronics to replace parts or even a simple starter if something goes wrong? Surely you don't have to buy a complete new unit?
