Anybody got an answer to this? I.E. Can you get in there at the electronics to replace parts or even a simple starter if something goes wrong?

i think they changed the design of these a couple of years ago because of problems with water getting in at ballast and so,the fully sealed them know which is probably the lesser of two evils because they last longer but is a pain if they do go.i know i had to change a whole unit about 18 mnths ago becuase the only way to see what was wrong was to try cut the whole thing open

Thanks John; not the answer I was looking for but it sounds typically Juwel from what I can see.

Hopefully my light unit will be trouble free.....

I got an old rekord 70 with lid/light from a friend. The light did not work so i prised apart the unit to replace the starter. It works fine, glued it back with silicone sealant. Be careful if your doing this, don't have it plugged in etc.
