Hey folks,

Looking for a Fluval 405 or similar canister filter for a new project. Also on the look out for any media such as carbon, phosphate remover and nitrate removing sponges. Cheers,

Hi,
if you want, have a look at the JBL external filters.
The e1500 for exemple is looking promising and roughly the same price or cheaper than fluval 405 for a bigger volume of filtration and a higher l/h.or else the e900 which is smaller...
They also have a wide range of filter media.
Hope this helps.

I also got the JBL CristalProfi e1500 for the guts of about 138 Euro in seahorse aquariums in dublin, Great pump had no problems with it, and the filter media is very cheap for different types too for when you need them.

good luck
