Glad PFK picks up on the 'latest' research. That was known when I was in college in the early 90's. Or as my then girlfriend put it :'your sexlife's killing your fishing.' Yeah, fair enough, just don't take a like in my breeding tanks...

Oestrogen (or estrogen) can be found in domestic wastewater in both its natural and artificial forms - such as those found in the contraceptive pill.

The hormones enter the wastewater as they are excreted through urine, and low levels of oestrogen can make their way into rivers as the wastewater is released.
