Thats a very good price i have never used that particular one i would check for spare parts and their cost but sounds good

I use elite, have three 802 running six filters. the one think i learned is never reduce the flow of air this putts pressure on the membrane and reduces the life of it. and remember a check valve

hi all

i havent actually ordered anything yet
research is still ongoing!

i like the look of this though...
its an eheim external
and comes with hose and diffuser

www.aquaristic.net/shop.php/sid/5504bdc0...lang/1/listtype/list

i'd kinda fancy the next one up
as it has two seperate controllabel supplies
and i fancy two different bubbly areas,
would this be overkill in my 54l tank?

i like the idea of it being outside
since my tank is so small (rekord 60)

any comments or thing to watch out for on pumps

hi all

i have a loan of a few bits
from a friend while i wait for an order...

one of these is a pump
I have hose and an airstone but no check valve

i have read that in a power outage the pump
will siphon the tank if the pump is below the tank

i have the pump in a press a foot over the tank and the
hose is hanging down and straight into the tank

will this be okay for a few days
while my new pump (with check valve)arrives

my two silvertips seem to enjoy it when its on
and play around the bubbles

i would always use a check valve. for the simple reason if some one else moves it and does not replace and of course the rare occasion if the line disconnect from the pump.

but as it is above the tank and is only till replacements arrive then with daily check should be fine
