So far we have a few keepers that will show fish at LFKS meetings but we would ideally like to have at least 20 people showing fish.Sponsors have agreed to supply prizes.This will be a great excercise and we will all learn alot about judging etc and each others fish.

A tutorial on how to bench fish is in the pipeline as no effort had previously been made to educate people on how to bench fish,which is easy enough and harmless to your fish if done correctly.

We are almost sure we have a new venue (cracking venue by the way) and we already have show tanks and necessary equipment to stage mini club shows.

Anyone interested in showing fish (regardless of what club you are in) please reply to this post.Thanks and more details to follow soon.

What is (bench fish)?
ive never heard of it.

Basically you bring along some of your fish, i.e. good size,fins,colour,shape etc and some tank water.We will have tanks setup with airstones to keep fish healthy during show.The fish will be judged on various different areas.

Fish are placed in tanks on benches,hence bench fish.

The winning fishes will get prizes.

All in all it makes for a good bit of craic and an interesting night.

Also it is good practice for shows.

Hi Darren,

Thats a post,not a tutorial.I know the post explains everything but to get it across to a person that it is relatively easy to bench fish,more detail and pictures/video would help.

I know we talked about this last year and never got around to it but it would help push potentially interested keepers that extra bit in order to get them to bench fish.

If you are interested in helping give us a shout,Im not that telegenic and Anto is too hairy.

If we took pictures of Antos hand in a tank it would look like a Gorrilla catching a fish.

I agree an updated and simple to understand tutorial would be great for everyone to get an idea what benching/showing fish is all about.
I had just pulled an old tread to give people an idea.
I can certinly help put this together. just wait untill after the weekend.
