AS some of you will be aware the standard for Guppys has not be great and new stock have died very quickly. While we have all had our ideas as to why this is, no clear explanation was there but having been studying other sites i have noticed that a lot of people are coming to the opinion that these fish are in fact been breed in brackish water in the east, Thailand, singapore etc, then when they arrive here they are in fresh water. The water from the bags allow them to survive but when we bring them home the lack of salt is causing stress/shock which may be why these fish are dying.

If possible would someone mind checking the bags of fish on arrival and post their results for salinity please.

while adding some tonic salt to your guppys is of benefit please remember their tank mates may not benefit if unsure please treat your guppys in an isolation tank. THIS MAY NOT BE THE FACT AND IS UNPROVEN

i have the same problem thats what the farm in asia does, 10 years ago guppys can live and do well in a big jar now they are more delicat then discus
please tell me were is the logic????
to bread them they use lots of hormons and is a not only problem here, the same is in poland czech republic, slowakia,
i talk about this yesterday with me friend Andrzej from polland, he keep guppis over 20 years, he has own guppies ferm
about 6 months ago he got 7th position in international guppies competition
he has grat knowlege about guppies and live breders

there is so much truth in what you have said adriano210 and its not just with guppys! please ask your friend Andrzej to join I am sure we can all benefit from both of your contributation and i would love to see some photos too as would many others!!
