Does somebody knows what strain is this discus or is just a mix breed?

Looks like a yellow marlboro discus. put it into an image search on google and brings a few up the same.

Breeders make up names all the time.
Unless I was keeping wild Discus then I would not bother with the varient.
They are all the same.

The fish is 4", the photo was taken with a mobile phone . i got him and another one of the same type plus 4 blue diamond from a guy on the forum. i dont really care what strain is, i think that he/she is beautiful (even the missus likes him/her and she's not a fish person). i was just curious and i had to start somewhere with keeping discus, if i can look after this 6 for 1 year without killing them then i could change to the more expensive ones. Thanx for the info.

ps. I think i have seen this type in wackers on the longmile road.

hes in a very good condition, first to eat, always swiming at the front of the tank, even started to come up to eat from my hand, just the picture is of bad quality cant figure how to take a good pic with the digital camera. i'll try to take some good ones and i'll post them. cheers

looking at the pic, he is only a young fish. eye size is ok, shape is ok, but if you feed him a good diet he should reach his potential. the peppering you can see on his forehead is something that sometimes can be cleared by using light backgrounds.

he looks like a Red Marlboro but that slight stress bar would say he has some other strain in him. Good luck and welcome to Discus remember good clean water and spend time watching them, that way you will know if one of them changes..

well the name of the discus is "golden discus" that was made in germany. its a male that had paired with a blue diamond and they are at the second spawning in the community tank. cheers
