in my community tank

i have aprox 20 guppy fry hiding in and around the only fake plant (for protection) . i dont mind if they becone high protein food but as they are behind the background and i cant get the net behind the background to put them into a breeding net what else could be done to protect them?
btw the marbles in the net in the pic are the ones i lost lol. i have cory fry in there ( the only 2 that didnt get eaten!!)
