surprise visitor from the USA 5 Months, 1 Week ago
At last nights meeting for the ITFS we had a nice surprise. Paul Bricknell came to our meeting all the way from Pennsylvania. He had attended a meeting previously about 7 years ago and while visiting relatives here decided to drop in and see if we were still meeting in Rosy's. Paul is the President of the Aquarium Club of Lancaster County in Pennsylvania and is also involved in the Killifish Association.

Many thanks to him for the books he brought that have been added to the library and also for bringing information on live foods. He also brought starter cultures for various live foods including paramecium & vinegar eels. Some of the information on raising cultures of live foods is from his own experience and extremely interesting and practical. I am in the process of typing it up and I will post it on the forum for everyone.

Paul has an extensive fish room with more then 40 tanks. He has years of experience some of which he shared with us last night. He has kept all sorts of fish and has bred numerous fish over the years.

Thanks for looking us up at last nights meeting it was lovely to meet you and hopefully we will be able to keep in contact. Good luck with your swap meet in October and we look forward to hearing how it all went. You are more then welcome to drop in again and we would all love to see you again.

Best regards

The members of the Irish Tropical Fish Society.

Well said, it was great having Dr Bricknell along.

I thought it was great that he brought the live food cultures for someone he promised them to when he was here 7 years ago, I can't remember what I promised someone 7 weeks ago!

A surprise guest from Sapin last month, from USA this month, I wonder where they will be from next month . . .

Yes, I sent Sean a PM to thank him, but I should have posted here too.

For anyone that was not at last months ITFS meeting Fr Jack (Sean Connolly) made a surprise appearance. And very kindly brought some interesting fish to distribute including killis, barbs, elephant fish, shrimps and a breeding pair of cichlids - the species I forget, Juli something.

So thanks again Fr Jack.
