Tough Plec. 5 Months, 1 Week ago

Today I waved goodbye to some of the fish from the Rio450 I am trying to convert to coldwater corys.
To catch the fish I had to remove the bog wood which I carefully inspected for hangers on, which included two very stubborn fan shrimp. With them eventually extracted I left the wood in the yard and proceeded to catch the fish that were going. Two hours later (at least) I went to put the bog wood back and when I lifted one piece, you guessed it, there was pretty large dried out plec, I am not sure what type, it is one of the striped Peckoltia species. I was mega pissed off. I picked him up by the tail and on the way to the bin he gave a bit of a wiggle. I threw him back into the tank where he proceeded to sink to the bottom and land upside down. A few fish came over and started to dine, but he was having none of it a flew off to hide!! He looks a bit rough and I think he may be blind – his eyes dried out, but it looks like he might survive.
Morale of this story, remove bogwood to bucket of water, just in case!
