What can i do to lower the nitrate in my tank?
It's reading 5

The rest of my results r as followed are they ok???
P.H. = 7.6
Ammonia = 0
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 5

Fish i have are as follows
10 neon tetra's
1 pearl gourami
1 opaline gourami
1 pleco
5 mollys
5 black skirt tetra's
1 glowlight tetra
2 serpa tetra's

Tank is a rio 180 with internal filter.
15% water change on wednesday with a gravel hoover.
Does the filter need to be changed??
Would it be ok if i put a second filter in the tank??

steo a nitrate reading of 5 is very low and won't be a problem so i would'nt
worry about it a reading tnat low wont effect your fish i would'nt change the filter maybe just the nitrate sponge(green)but leave the rest alone you could add an external filter if you really wanted to but be a waste of money really as all you reading are good so your internal is workin fine

Plants will quickly lower your nitrate.

A few caps of easy balance would help.

Organic Aqua will detoxify it. Are you getting any algae? Very low reading anyway... Steve
