i got a dennerle trocal de luxe plant special t8
for my rekord 60 and am not mad on it,
its very yellowy,

i was using a friends hood while i got some
of my own stuff from zooplus,
it had a hagen aquaglo and had a red/blue focus
which i got used to and liked,
mind you the fish seem to like the new lamp

i have access to led's in work and was wondering
if i popped a few blue leds in my hood would
it knock back the yellow a little, i suppose it would
give me a bit more light also

i could always return the lamp at my own expense

only thing you would have to worry about doing this is heat from the led's and evaporation / sealing the lights remember water and electricity don't mix... unless you can be 100% confident with your work not
a] overheating,
b] causing a short
c] falling into your tank and frying your fish
i'd say leave it and protect your fish and yourself.... we want neither dead.....yet...lol

theres the thing,

LEDs emit little or no heat and can be submerged in water
(the pods not the transformer that is)
