hi all

a tip for the newcomers here (from one!)

i have some cabomba
(a.k.a. Green Cabomba, Fanwort, Carolina Fanwort, Fish grass, Washington grass) lifted from wiki!

i got it when i bought my first plants
and its a cracking plant for a newb

i got swords, vallis and anubias
also when i bought my cabomba
and they are okay but looked better when i bought them!

i run a low light setup in a rekord 60
it has a dennerle 15w planty type bulb, thats it

Cabomba is rated as a low-medium light plant
but its absolutely flying in my tank
i have to trim it regularly!

the fish love it, two plants hide the juwel filter
and its a lovely colour all the time,

the only thing downside is that i have to
pick some of the fine leaves off the filter intake slots
but its nothing

out of curiosity, what do the experts here think of cabomba
and is there downsides to this plant that i dont know about?
is it old hat?

I am no expert so I am sure I am doing something wrong, when I try Cambomba I end up with a tank full of the leaves and a few stems Glad it is growing well for you, when still intact it is a lovely plant and great for fry to hide in.

The only downside for me is the speed of growth. I get tired of trimming it.

If you are taking cuttings, I'd be more than happy to take some off your hands.

I've a rekord 60 as well, would be nice to have more plants.
