So the start of it I will quote form one of my first Topics in
this forum ( www.irishfishkeepers.com/index.php?optio...start=120&Itemid=200 ) :
Lauris wrote: hi there.
Just a quick update on my planted tank diary on next project.
so as it all starts with.. I have an idea
So.. my little Nano may turn into a slow grower as I don't really know if I will be able to
afford another Co2 system, but will see..
so this will be hi tech set-up and planned to start again with DSM (dry start method)
So about new project -
-Cabinet: IKEA (not purchased yet, but with this I will start, next weekend)
assembled this cabinet for my mothers aquarium. I'd say it is a beautiful and stylish piece of furniture.
Simple, inexpensive and about the size I'm looking for. IKEA 51.00 quit. 1 door, adjustable level shelves.
in size of H64cm, L60cm and W40cm. Available in white, wooden, black, gloss white and few more
combinations. If someone is looking for something in these measures - I can only recommend.
I'll go for white (glossy one is 25EU more expensive and it's just because doors are in gloss, so I see no
reason to overpay). also it has a tiny screw-in "legs" with adjustable levels for each. so it is easy to get
this thing in level.
BESTÃ… series Vara White

-Tank: 60cmx40cmx40cm 6mm optiwhite, clear-seal, 90L. Got a great price of Rainbow aquatics. so it will meet
the cabinet (this should be sorted by the end of April.)
-Light: this is a painful for me (I need to start a fundraising for lights. lol). I think I will stay with LED as chap Beamswork
LED's proved with a great results in my Nano tank. No algae whatsoever and decent growth. I will go for a overhead light unit
and more likely will install some brackets in my wall. but in terms of expenses - I will say - this will give me a plenty of time to
work on design in my new scape. lol.
I have no clue what fish or inverts will go in..
For scape I will use ADA amazonia (plenty left over since my Iwagumi failed), some mini aqua-scape rock (still have about 17kg's of this)
and will mix up with some roots. As I failed on HC but I love the carpet - Defo I will try this time with Monte Carlo (Micrantherum umbrosum)
and will add some Micro-Swords (Lilaeopsis brasiliensis).. will try with some moss on stones (yogurt method) and some mosses on roots..
So this is just at the very early stage of my next tank. I'd say - idea and plan is there.. everything else depends of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
But I will try to keep this in detail and up-to date as much as possible..

Id say it was a long time til I found tank to match my cabinet (LOL)
now... things finally does move forward..
Santa arrived early. LOL
To be honest - could not resist the price.
Will try and play with it.
and grabbed today new piece of wood for the project
will need to chop it there and there. but great potential.
My tank will be only 60cm in Length and ths piece is about 70cm
(thanks Darren)
also I got about 5kg's nice natural substrate for path to create
it is light goldish color. should be in nice contrast with ADA amazonia
and plants
(thanks Darren)
Another thing I could not resist - got first plant for new project
as it is in jelly should be fine for a week to keep it in pot
My tank is ready for collection (thanks Kev). So I think early next week I will have my hands on hardscape
will keep this one updated

swai wrote: I think if its an open top tank, some of the root above the water line would look the best. Is there no way you could adjust the very first pic for it to fit nicely?
If not v6 for me.
this time it will stay closed. I'm sick of loosing fish and shrimps.
Anything sticking out in other V of the root in would be chopped anyway.
Thanks for your input

I may need something to tie up on branches. so it means something
more ok with higher light levels but also not as messy, easy to keep
under control, slow grower ..etc

Lovely pair I took of Kevin will be rehomed to this setup. As they are perfectly fine in community tank.
today installed rail for light. I hope with all my moving I will have some time this eve to work on hardscape. will timelapse it.

I got in BnQ 4mm Polycarbonate (if thats the right name for it) clear plate. will cut ti to adjust it as a cover.
Substrate I got is similar to Darrens display tank. just his is a bit more fine grade. my one is a bit different in colour.
