A Few Pics of tank
×
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Everything looks stunning and I hope it stays that way.
Hovever IMO there seems to be to many fish in that tank.
At present they are young and small but as they reach adult the problems are going to start, even as they are now the lipstick tang has a tolerance of +/- 1 degree so a chiller connected up to a heater to balance out the water temp is needed to help him survive .I dont mean to knock your setup its stunning but I would like to give you some feed back I recieved through other marine fish keepers who had the same fish in their tanks. Can you let us know what type of skimmer , trickle filter , power head / stream , water prams how big is the tank etc . These are just some questions to help us understand the setup you have . From there we can then give the best advice.
Again you have some beautful fish and a beautful reef setup and I would hate to see it fail and cause distress to you.
Yours in the same game
Paul

Nice tank, not sure if the 2 types of cloans will get on in the future you have all males at the moment so its all calm at the moment, wait till they pair off and they will ripe the smaller A. Ocalairs. The rock bueaty is going to be cyanide collected, if you have every dived around them they are impossible to hand net, so dont expect a longer life than 2 years on that particular angel.
That would be a ecumenical matter!!!

Ciaran sorry mate from the picture the tank looked smaller than 400ltrs I though 280 was the size

However the surg lipstick tang like all of that spicies are very difficult to keep unless you have the temp controlled . But I still tink its a cracking setup well done Hope all stays well mate
Regards Paul.

Hi Ciaran, congrats on your setup. It has the making of a fantastic looking tank !.Are you providing algae for your tangs, coral beauty, algae blenny as they need a constant supply to thrive.Provide Nori seaweed for them in a clip for them to graze on,that will keep them well fed and content.Just to let you know that the lipstick tang can grow to over 10 inchs so keep an eye on your stocking levels.
