Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

I would say it's a pseudacanthicus leopardus. Feed plenty of meaty foods. The one in the picture is only young. You may have to move them or the other pleco's once they start to grow and become territorial and aggressive.
I have a few of these and i have to keep an eye on them with pleco's of the same size or bigger.

thanks for the info lads. i,m actually thinking about getting rid of all my plecos i only but in for new plants and i turned the lights on the next day and they were aall in pieces.
Your dead right with them being aggressive. What do you feed yours platy 252 and are you trying too breed them or just for show.

If you are thinking of getting rid of your pleco's send me a list of what you have.
I feed mine on bloodworm, large krill and Hikari carnivore pellets. When they are small they will eat some pleco pellets but try not feed them to much of these.

i love the snow ball a golden nuggent to much to get rid of.
The others are 4 royal pleco's 3 of which are about 2 inch and 1 about 3 inch very healthy ...
The 2 pseudacanthicus leopardus 1 is about 3 inch the other 4 inch..
And i believe the other to be a lepard frog pleco but any pictures i google he looks more like a king tiger pleco but i can't be sure.
If your interest in any let me Know and i'll keep them for you i'll try make my mind up. Was serously pissed off with them after the plant issue

If you do decide to get rid of some i might be interested in the one that you are not sure off. Weather it be a king tiger L66 www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=174 Or a leopard frog L134 www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=213.
I have a few of both of these so it will feel right at home.

Darren.
