Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Hi everybody completly not fish related I have a part labrador pup 3 months old looking for a good home. The story is the mother & 3 pups were abandoned & made their way to my house about a month ago. The owner finally showed up & took them away however he has disappeared abroad & is not returning any of my calls. To cut a long story short The mother is gone with the owner, we have managed to rehome 1 pup we are keeping 1 & I would like to home the last 1. As you can appreciate I am reluctant to send the pup to the pound. The pup has all necessary jabs is black & white & very friendly. However anybody that does want to take this pup please remember a pup is a commitment & not just for Christmas. Thanks Padraig

Padraigh,
Is this a Dog or a B***h puppy?

Presumably the mother was a Lab, I'm guessing the father to be a Collie? (from the white on the Pup).

Hi Valerie & all.:(
Long story short the clown who decided to take the black & white part labrador pup last Thursday decided he didn't want her & just abandoned her on our road over the weekend & she made her way back to our house, so yet again does anybody have a loving home for a 3 and a half month old pup. You can view a photo which Valerie kindly put up in one of the previous messages. Regards

:( Hi all this pup is still available to whoever can offer a loving home. Unfortunately I cannot continue to care for her & I will have no alternative but to send her to the pound in the next couple of days unless somebody is prepared to take her on. Any takers???????

Hi

Please do cross post the pup to pets Ireland I would be grateful for any help we can get to home this pup, the last thing I would want to do is send her to the pound as she ticks all the right boxes for a good family pet. My location is North county Dublin. To the best of my knowledge she has had all her jabs , she has definitely been wormed & she comes for walks every day with her sister who we are keeping.

Regards

Padraigr

Hi all finally managed to get the dog a good home. The owner of a pet shop said she would put a photo of the dog in her shop, however when we gave her the photo she fell in love with the dog herself.............& as they say they lived happily ever after:) :) :cheer:

I'm delighted it didn't have to go to the pound.
Fair play to you padraigr for looking after it as long as you did.
