Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

hahahaha all the sour liverpool fans lappin it up i see, shame us losing is there biggest highlight of the season so far!

we were unlucky last night the sending off made the difference he didnt deserve the second yellow for that challenge ribery had another 4 man u players in front of him to beat

as for the goons on RTE well what can i say about them?
you couldn't write the slop that comes out of there mouths!
we've heard this crap before when united got knocked out in the group stages a few years back and when we were playing roma in the second leg and we were 2-1 down and what happend after that?

those auld gits will eat that own words like they have done on so many occasions

If you're going to be crazy, you have to get paid for it or else you're going to be locked up.

I think Ferguson has to take a large chunk of the blame for last night. He chose to play Rooney which was a big mistake and will do nothing for Berbatovs confidence. He chose to play Rafael and most importantly he chose to play Carrick. United have a major problem in central midfield and if they had any sense they would purchase 2 quality midfielders in the summer. They dont need defenders or strikers they need central midfielders to replace Keane and Scholes. I becomes more of a problem when they play 4-5-1 with 3 central midfielders.
If it was me I would try to get Diarra, Pirlo and Sneijder.

doesnt matter how many players he still had to beat he got booked for tugging the player back, second bookable offence, not a straight red,bye bye de silva.

and yes i am a sour liverpool fan and quiet proud of it,

i've seen many a player on a yellow and gettin away with worse fouls than that without gettin a bookin.

and ye i do think we need a good one or 2 decent central midfielders and one out in out striker to be honest

ahhhhhhhh he's not a 6 year old in fairness he's just a liverpool supporter thats all they love there history cause they have no decent future to look forward too.

gerrard isn't gettin younger and will be impossible to replace him and torres will go back home or to italy soon cause what was the reason he left alt. madrid for in the first place??

think it was to win some decent trophy's?

cant see that happening anytime soon

didnt go to liverpool to play in the europa league thats for sure, could have done that at alt. madrid

but ya never know "next year will be there year" aye stan? hahahhahhahhahhahaha

ah the banter... no harm.
I think its bad days ahead for both United and Liverpool unless they get their act together.
If Liverpool lose Torres I think they are in serious trouble. I think Gerrard will stay but his game has suffered this season. It would be great if United signed both of them.....
A quick word about Rafa, I hope he stays as Liverpools manager because they will never develop with him as their manager. Any manager that rates Garret Barry above Alonso should not be in the game

massive changes have to be made at both clubs, both at board room level and on the pitch, both squads have crap all through them, no point in listing them.the way its goin both clubs could be resigned to their history, as long as we dont go 26 years with a title ill be happy enough as long as it aint united getting number 19.

its common knowledge that rafa's man management leaves a lot to desire, but in fairness can you only imagine him only talking to 2 senior players when he considers reina carra kuyt and mascherano the spine of the team,
how i wish he would just play babel up front with torres and see what happens
