Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Prize to be announced when we find a donor, but fear not - one will come along, I'm certain.
Good luck to everyone...here's hoping I actually get one vote for my entry this time!!!

Thinks...I'm sure there's a camera on my little phone - and a video function, problem for me would be to find out how to work them, I would have to ask my neighbour's Grandkids - they know all about these technical things.
I will have to check.

Still waiting for phone-pics for the supplementary competition - not even one entry so far!
I'll have to give it a go myself...if I enter and nobody else does I shall win by default - even if nobody votes for it!

Tell the Forum which phone you are using and trying to upload the picture from.
I'm pretty certain there will be someone (but not me, I'm afraid) who will be able to point you in the right direction.

Re: Mobile memory card:
The phone is using its own memory by default. There should be an option in Settings to change this.
Also if you press Options/Menu when displaying the pic it might give you the option to Move or Copy the pic to another location/folder such as your memory card.
eg of an LG phone (not sure of model)
Go to My Stuff, Images,(highlight pic) Options, File, Move to External Memory (or Copy to Ext Mem).
Then you can unmount (or just remove the card if your phone doesnt have this option)
Connect it to your computer ( usually with a usb adapter) and save/move/copy it to your computer.
You can then add it as an attachment to your post/mail etc.
Hope this helps.

I missed your question.
This competition is a normal one for a prize but there is a supplementary 'phone-pic' - 'for fun' - competition running alongside of it, although this could be scrubbed for this month and restarted later.
