Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Misread your name for a second; thought it said Discus-Killer. I was thinking "I'm not sure this is going to be the right forum for this guy..."

Hi BlueRam,

I think I should move to Discus part of this forum where I could add some photos and videos. Anyway, this is my breeding pair, 15cm I guess.

I wasn't selling them before, but I will have to now because I'm running out of space. I have around 100 young Discus (from 5cm to 10cm), and my breeding pair is ready to breed again.

What type of fish do you keep?

I have a 200litre tank. I'm keeping Corydoras Sterbai, Cardinal's, Harlequin Raspbora's. I'm looking to add some Bolivian Ram's and possibly some Discus as the tank looks quite bare. I only bought the tank a few months back and I have been keeping fish the last 6 years.

I'm living very closeby to you so let me know if you would be willing to sell me some. You can drop me a PM if you like with some prices and details.

Thanks

Brilliant vid and beautiful discus. This is both an aspiration and inspiration for/to me. Very well done. Keep me in mind if/when you decide to move on any of your blue discus offspring. Cheers

Lads and Ladies,
Picked up 3 of Discus Killester's blue diamonds earlier today and wow. Great quality, very healthy fish. Coloured up in my tank within an hour of being added, eating all around already and a gorgeous blue colour and shape. Check them out if your in the market for quality discus. Cheers!
Hoping Discus K might throw me one more given the euro I dropped on the three I already have......

Hi Gonefishy,

It was nice meeting you yesterday, and chat about fish…

Thank you for the kind words

I’m glad you’re happy with the fish. Could you please attach a photo or two, just to see them in their new home...

By the way, where did you get that blue background for your tank? Is it a poster or?

Hahaha, sure! I'm lucky you didn't have enough space and that we didn't have more plastic bags, you'd probably take all of them

Thank you very much.

Cheers!
