Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

I'm back....

I'm back.... was created by FreakyFish (FreakyFish)
Wow...it has been so long since I have been on here. It's great to see the site looking so well, I like the new layout.

Well the new setup never went ahead and most likely won't until I can afford my own place. For now I have 4 cold water fish, but I still want more  who doesn't lol...

At present I have an Oranda, common, fancy and a hill stream loach. The Oranda and common are sharing the same tank I am seeing some tension between them. The common keeps nipping the orandas tail. I need to move one but I'm not sure who to move as both seem happy in their tank and I don't have another tank suitable to house the common, but I may have one for the oranda. I think I will have to persuade my mother to allow another tank lol...so not going to happen.

I have grown really attached to my new loach (Kev) which I have 2 weeks, he is really interesting to watch and especially when he is eating the flakes. He also has a little fancy (Johnny Depp) in there with him, waiting for him to get stronger before I put him in the other tank.

Ok, so that's a little of what's been happening since I have been gone.

Nice to be back,
FreakyFish

Oh no, not agin, I rember over 50 post without even a heater in the tank let a lone one single fish, I wont get tricked into that game again.

That would be a ecumenical matter!!!

Hello goldy and valerie, thanks for the welcome back.:)

You are right valerie I do have a lot of reading to catch up on, but as my main tanks now just house cold water fish I shall mainly stick to that section.

I have a short vid of Silent Bob and Cara. NO real plants just material ones. Goldie's and plants don't mix well unfortunately.

Here is a short vid of Silent Bob and Cara-
