Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Hi all, im looking for two female dwarf gouramis i have an orange neon male and id like some babies!!!!!!!!:laugh: i looked around dublin a in meath but havnt found any can anyone help?

Im upgrading my tank soon i have a 54l i got in aldi!!!!:P its excellent for beginners, the pump in it is over sized for a 54l so easy to keep clean.

i have a 3 ballon mollies, a sailfin molly, i noen dwarf gourami, a small pleco 3", 3.5" bala shark, a mix of neon tetras and a mix of platys different types.

you do know how big of a tank youll need for tha bala and pleco!
they both will get real big
depends what pleco though

Yeah no they will get big just upgraded to a jewel rio 180 today...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:laugh:
gonna use the 54l for breeding hopefully

Dont no if you have heard of this place in lisburn called grosvenor tropicals unreal place for everything great marine selection and tropical plus good prices!!!!!! and the prices of the fish tanks are so cheap compared to anywhere in dublin got mine for 250 euro plus a massive bag of gravel and stones for 12euro

havent heard of there but im getting a few clearseal tanks out of Reptile Haven on fishambles street in town.

He doesnt sell fish but ive never seen cheaper good quality aquariums.call in to him any day if you need anything.
The guys name is ben and he will get you an aquarium within 3 or 4 days if he doesnt have it in stock

in regard to the fish your looking for check out Aquatic Village.
they have a huge selection
over 300 tanks
somthin like 72000 liters in the place

cheers, thanks bout the aquatic village! Is that in Dun laoghaire? Cool be looking forward to visiting there now lol!! but u shud definately check out that website...was up there 2day as i already said...the selection on marine and tropical fish as well as live corals and live plants...there was a coffee table tank too...filling up my new tank as we speak...trying to encourage the girlfriend to help...:cheer:

nice one...

just wondering ive filled my tank with stone and gravel i started at 7.30 cleaned every stone it took 2 and a half hours to clean and fill im putting water in it now and the water is filty ndirty do i keep filling it up and let the flitter clean it or just clean the stones again
