Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

I've moved from community tropicals to central american cichlids in the last year.
Main tank 120x30x45
1 suckermouth pleco(light brown)
1 clown pleco (who you'd forget was there)
2 black widow tetras ( good few years old now)
2 cory sterbai (to be moved to small Juwel tank with other 3 sterbai)
4 firemouths (3 male,1 female)
2 convicts (male & female)
Pea gravel, stones pots and fake plants.
Juwel tank 60x30x40
2 convicts growing out (one is pink/white)
3 cory sterbai
gravel rocks and live plants.
Java fern, java moss and ****glove fern (I keep forgetting name)
I'm looking to upgrade tank to at least double current size.
Nearly same price for glass as is for new tank, so second hand looking most likely.

a belated welcome mate, although ive seen a few of your posts but not this one, darren
Might it just be that, like yourself, the 'ignorant bunch' missed the introductory post from Justin as well?

Main tank is now 150cm (5ft) 400litre
1 suckermouth pleco(light brown)
2 adult black widow tetras ( good few years old now)
Plus 5 Juveniles from FFF
5 cory sterbai (all in now)
4 firemouths (3 male,1 female)
1 Severum juvenile from FFF
1 Juvenile female convict ( getting nice colouration)
Sand,rocks/stones, sprinkled gravel,Java Moss + Windalove fern(Fergal aka Singar)a leftover Java fern shoot.
small piece of Bogwood.
I'm happy with the move so far. The new additions of Black widows is bringing the Firemouths out aswell as the bogwood, needs more though.
They were all getting beaten by the convict pair so it was all hands on deck for the move.
Old 150l (4ft)
1 clown pleco (who you'd forget was there)
2 convicts (Pair) with fry
Juwel tank 60x30x40 Shutdown
R.I.P.
Pink convict (The pair tore him badly, didn't survive the move)
Running on two Fluval internals until water level is increased and sump is ready. Have to make up return and spraybar.
Pics to follow:)
