Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

:S Hi My name is Suzanne I have only joined and I am looking forward to making new friends on here.
I have an aquarium with 11 gold fish in it some small and some large. I had 6 fish to start with in a small tank and then I got larger tank called an ORCA, so now my little fellas have a nice space to swim in.
I have recently got two yellow belly turtles The previous owner had no time to look after them and they were in some state when we got our hands on them. You could not see the turtles the water was so green. But those babies are doing ok at the moment I am trying to get a tank big enough for them as the one they cam in is way too small. So I am hoping that I can get advice on both my fish and the turtles.
We also have 4 dogs two rescue dogs and a rescued Donkey Called ed. Yes I am a glutton for abused animals. But please don't tell too many about that .
Oh yes as I put in my profile I am looking at putting a pond in to the garden this year so I'll be looking for advice on how best to set it up for the likes of Koi (ahhhh This lap top wont spell properly).Well that's it yep think that's about it. Ah sure I can add more later when I remember it xox
Yours Suzanne/Sue xox

Hi there Joey you will have to be patient with me I am visually impaired I can only use one eye and it takes me a bit of time to get used to new sites. I am trying to up load some photos at the moment but I am such a computer idiot it will be a few mins (i hope) and they should be up.
I live in Roscommon near Castlerea. We live out in the sticks as I say. Lots and lots of fields to look at. We have a huge garden and I want to put a pond in this year so that will be something to work on.
Oh when I do get the hang of the picture thing you will be sick looking at my photos xox
