Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Hi. My name is Mariusz and Im new on forum but for a long time read forum.
I wonder what for the Irish market so difficult to buy ADA products and I wonder whether, if they appear in stores, whether they will enjoy popularity. What you think??
We have idea of introducing the brand in the Irish market but first I wanted to make sure that this is a good idea.
I do not know yet the exact price but I hope that there will not be much higher price than for example in the UK.
Bringing the substrate (ground) 9l, such as Amazonia is becoming a problem because of the weight. Direct distributor here to significantly decreased transport costs and waiting time.
I apologize for my mistakes in English but still I learn. I look forward to your opinions and views on the subject.

Of course this is a good idea;)its a great idea. When can I get it in the shops:)

I use aquasoil already, but not many people over here do mainly due to the local unavailability problem and the high cost of import. Im sure if it was available locally and people realised how good it is, it would sell no problem;)

Best of luck whatever you decide, do post back and let us know.

hello guys.
I have good news.
I talked today with a company representative on the ADA in Western Europe and offered me a job as a representative of their companies in Ireland.
Obviously take some time before the ADA will appear on the island but it is already closer than further.
As soon as I get the official price lists and folders advertising will try to offer something for Irish shops and I think that it will not be necessary import huge quantities.
Remains the problem of the costs of transport and logistics but I believe that the joint forces we resolve the problem.
I will inform you on an ongoing basis and if you have more questions fill free to contact me on PM or 0873110146

Sounds great,

Will you also be thinking of doing the garden tanks or will it mainly be substrates and the smaller accessories?

Lead me not into temptation, For I can find it myself!

I think that the quantity and variety of products will depend on the shops.
In principle this is a magazine that has the most products in eastern Europe More opportunities are practically not limited.
Of course everything from how broad interest will enjoy the products of this company.
On the tanks is if you think tanks in the homes of design-based products ADA I think that it will not be a problem.

It would be good to some of the ADA products on the shelves here rather than having to send away for them.
In particular the substrates.
