Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Hello there, its been a while since i posted anything up........lots to do of course...just to let you know we have a shipment of plants and trops in on friday so as usual should be some nice stuff on board.
Also in the next few weeks i will be selling Japanese koi fry....we should interest some of you guys out there....i spawned them the other day....we are trying to go back to basics up here and produce a lot of our own stocks...i bet you few of you knew that we used to breed our own koi back at the start 12 yrs ago....well anyway i spawned our Japs so genuine fry will be available...the female who laid is a cracker and shes worth two and a half grand....so these fry wont be donkeys.......
Also we have wild redbellied piranha fry on the go too....as far as i know this is a rarity so far play to the aquatic village team i should say.....if anyone is interested i may put up the video of my koi spawning....

...we have a shipment trops in on friday...

yeah, some lovely Fish arrived on Friday, there are a lot of Fish up in AV at the moment...
some really nice ones too, I think 4 different types of Apisto's, 4 or 5 different types of Cory's, a load of different types of Tetra n' Barbs etc. etc. the Orange Flame Tetra stood out to Me...
a whole spectrum of different types of Puffers, some very impressive Marines and a few types of tropical fish that are new to Me...
also a load of different types of African Cichlids arrived, very nice Specimens too...
think I might have to get the Camera out, the countless number of Fry up there would make great subject matter for the Macro lens...

Great Job Guys, keep it up...

yeah the apistos are seriously cool looking fish. was so tempted to buy some only for gods intervention. i was pissed off in the gaff and headed up and seen them and said "i know wat will get up the missuses nose,i'l buy more fish" took the cash out had bang on enough for a pair bent down to pick out a pair and a few euro flew out of my hand and landed under the decking...now i know av would have seen me right on the spare change but wen god says dont buy these fish i listen, now i know av are fantastic for rehoming fish but wat about rehoming a 30 year old wit obvious mental health issues
