Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Well after a good nights sleep. I am ready to tell you all about my experience!

I am in the habit of checking out all the animals in any shop i love almost any little critters. I also find if you find problems in one department it is in all well they passed with flying colours again and i also picked up some good ideas!!!

Then we head up to the fish department where i we got a lovely warm greeting. As did everyone! I spent some time looking around the tanks etc. you can really tell these guys have the bug the tanks were looking good or were in the process of being cleaned which i have to say is a job i would not fancy when you consider in the middle of a job they have to stop and serve customers or answer question. Plus add in they are after having time off etc.

Like i say stock levels were low for the number of tanks but there was still plenty of fish to keep my interest the selection of cory's, plec was wonderful to me but remember i am not an expert on these (sadly) but what was there was good quality bristle noses at varying stages so if you have an algae problem you know where to go.

And i got so much advice my head hurt what (what a wonderful complaint)

only i have not got a tank to store them and the weather was stormy yesterday i would have been bring home some gold fish for my mums and cousin ponds they had some of the best looking stock i have seen in many a year. bright glowing after seeing those i know for sure we won't be putting anything else in this year! and as soon as the weather is right i will be heading up there that is if there is any left which i very much dough()

I also will now admit i think my first marine tank will use the organicaqua.

And any one looking a good test kit there is one there for all in fact the biggest kit i have seen outside breeder/wholesale ideal for anyone with a planted tank everything all in one and a very good price.

Over the next few weeks i am going to be testing some products i got the new tropic marin lipovit and and the organic aqua health treatment so watch this space

so what was my opinion i was not expected! very positive
and relaxing experence i got plenty of bargains and left a very happy camper!!

Petstop are in the blanchardstown centre. Not in the main centre itself but in the block to the side of it alongside Lidl, borders, heatons etc.

Petstop is in the west-end retail park, one of the retail parks that surround the Blanchardstown S.C...Its the retail park that has KFC and we're right beside Iidl, in this retail park.

We're in between shipments at the moment, both plants and fish are on the low side.
We stock plants from 'Tropica' and their web site gives a full catalog of their plants, if anyone has special requests, send a PM and i'll see if its available..
