ITFS Members??

Just wanted to see there is a lot off ppl on this fourm and I would like to.see how many off us off the fourm
Are actually members off the ITFS?

good question. currently apart from ian and john very few other itfs members post regularly. platy, goldy, andrew and daragh owens are members who post occasionally and i am a long standing itfs member.
fishkeeping re the clubs seems to go in cycles and needs a regular influx of new members to keep the interest high and this in turn encourages more of an interest in forums.

It's a real pity that the likes of Derek, D. Owens, Platy, John H, etcetera don't post that often anymore. I've never seen such good quality posts anywhere on any forum to match theres.

I am a member but making the time to post just seems to get harder all the time.

I would be intrested in being a member still have a bit to learn

We meet the second Tuesday of every month in Rosy O'gradys in Harold's cross Dublin. So that's the 15th of April for the next meeting. All are welcome.

yeah thats y i posted this there doesnt seem to be that many members as for as many on the forum

is there many going on the 5th of April i would love to go as i am a member but havent being to a meetin as off yet

but now i have very Tuesday off so can make the trip from navan

I agree that the quality of the posts from the above and a few others are sadly missed and i would love to see a return of at least some to the forum. platy, d owens and johnh are all very experienced fishkeepers and good writers as are ianmilichip and stretnik. but what i like about all of these posters is that their writing is believable and based on experience and not spoofy or deluded.

There's a few guys and ladies on here who I know from the ITFS and also know their username here; but there are also people I spoken to on many occasions at the ITFS meetings and have not the faintest idea what their usernames are on here (some are on here, and some are not).

As an aside, but somewhat related, I was chatting to someone somewhere (I won't mention usernames ) a while ago after I first joined the forum.....and when I mentioned that I was on this forum and what name I used, they said that they had 'googled' my name to see what type of strange fish I was calling myself.
I did laugh and explained that that 'weird' username is just the initials of my name plus surname (any guesses as to my middle name 'g'?) ....it's not Godfrey.

@Draco...are you popping along to the next meeting? I don't think we have met before.

Actually, apart from the people who use their real names (eg John G, Andrew and Yourself), it is only Platy and Goldy who I can relate the real person to the username. The others, I simply do not know their usernames.

'Geoffrey' just reminds me of that bloke off Rainbow. Nope.

post deleted for you Ian, as for club membership i was with the cfks, but work commitments have scuppered my attendance and renewal of membership, might have to start a limerick club if time allows

I'm a member of the ITFS too and manage to make it down to the big smoke from Galway about once or twice a year for a meeting !

Do you mean the Barilius? you'll have to tell us more on you getting into Bleher's good books.
I didn't think anyone could cope with another marathon water session.

Maybe some of the forums here should have a 'mugs-shots' thread. But that is for someone to start said thread.

Interesting thread here, i'd like to become a ITFS member but i'd never be able to come all the way to dublin for a meeting , so it's kinda pointless in me joining.
