Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Seahorse Aquariums invite all aquarists and budding photographers to submit pictures of your Aquariums / Fish / Corals worthy to be in the 2013 Seahorse Aquariums Calendar.

Yes we want your best picture to be in aquarist houses around the country . How do you do this you ask?

Send in a image to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. It can be of any Marine or Freshwater aquarium / fish. It must be your own image and not from the web. It must be around 2Mb in file size so that the resolution of the image will print clearly when blown up in to it's full glory.

We will leave this open for 1 month. People who are selected will receive a gift voucher for €25 to spend at Seahorse Aquariums and also get a few extra calendars to give to your mates so you can say..... I took this picture....

So get snapping or dig up the old snaps you have. Remember - The picture that you send in - Is it of the quality that you think people would like to have on their wall for 1 month?

Hi Sean,

Many thanks

Yes this will be running till the end of August. People can enter as many photos as they like. if over the 2Mb no problems - We will work with it over this side - Actually - the bigger the better.

Also we would like to use the images for our website under a new category of customer photo's as well. So if anyone does not want to have their image included then just let us know.

Got some great pictures in already - Looking forward to more.

Andrew

Tried to send in a couple of pics the other night but kept getting delivery failure notifications. Could your inbox be full with photos Andrew?

Great idea b.t.w, can't wait to see it!

Thanks to everyone that sent in pictures to the calendar for 2013. We got heaps of entries and we will try to get most of these up on our website somehow for everyone to see..
We have selected 6 pictures that meet the quality and guidelines needed for a large print like the calendar.

We will be going to layout soon and then into production. Keep posted when in store for your copy in December.

Due to a massive workload and a shop extension and lots of other things on the go -We did not manage to get the calendars ready for this year.
We will hope to have the calendars available for 2014 so watch this space for next year.

Merry Christmas
