Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

What a week. Come and have a look at what we have in store for you this weekend.

1) We are offering 20% off all JBL products this weekend. From canister filters to food and filter wool - If it's a JBl product it 20% off. Also on Sunday, we will have Cyril and Stella from the European JBL team in store to answer any question you have about their products or general aquatic questions.

2) We are launching our 60 new freshwater gravels this weekend which will be on permanent display. We have 60 different types of gravel for freshwater aquariums. These are available by the kilo or in 15 kilo bags. See our website for a to preview of what is available - www.seahorseaquariums.com/store/category.../Freshwater-Gravels/

3) We have just received 18 boxes of the most amazing Australian corals from the west coast of Australia. The colours are dazzling from florescent greens to coca-cola reds. They must be seen to get an idea of their vibrancy. We have mini Trachyphyllia's from €30 which is sure to bright up any reef tank. Also we got lots more which can be seen on the the stock list in our new arrivals section on our website. We have a YouTube video available on our YouTube channel of the corals and some pictures are also up on our Facebook page.

4) New Shop Display tank is now ready - Yep we finally got our carpenter Vernon, who does all our custom tank carpentry, to finish up the 3.5 meter main display tank. It looks amazing and it displays a range of our new Australian corals. We have started loading up with fish stock as well - Wait till you see the massive Naso tang that is currently dominating the tank.

5) Over 10 boxes from Indonesia have arrived in from our favourite freshwater supplier. We have back in stock the mini crayfish and also a great selection of dwarf shrimps and captive bred Cichlid - see full list in our new arrivals section on our website.

So do you need any more reason to come in this weekend? Fresh live food is also in stock to treat your fish.

For the full stock list of arrivals - see our website - www.seahorseaquariums.com/store/content/49/New-Arrivals/

Please excuse the video and pictures as these were taken after the corals went in the system. It does not do any justice of the colours for the corals that are in stock and now rested.
