Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

It's probably a bit late but for further reference in this situation you could use PTFE thread seal tape bought in any hardware store very cheap, and just use a fresh piece every time you have to open it

Got the reactor to seal eventually but completely done my head in ....took several atempts to get it right but all good now.....well atleast untill the rowaphos has to be changed again......ptfe tape wouldnt work on my reactor dont know if all frm75's are the same but mine has a gap cut out of the threads...the only thing that seals is the ring....
spent so long messing around with this reactor didnt get to move around the rock as i wanted so thinking of a different reactor all toghether and running aio pelletts and doing away with the rowaphos

Sounds like a pain in the neck alright
Aio pellets seem to be the way to go if used right, would they work in a 75??
No rock moving = no new tang I take it
Seen a massive powder blue yesterday in sh wad very tempted myself but it was the same size ad my yellow belly blue hippo and that didn't work out the last time so it would need ti be bigger, but would work for you, you should try have a look at it if it's still their

Been looking into aio pelletts and have decided to go for a new reactor from cleartides...there cheaper than a deltec and they seem to get good reviews on line so gping to chance one....75s don t seem to be suitable for aios so i may keep it on standby for rowaphos just in case....but leaky frm75 s seems to be a very common problem with them
the rock may still get moved this week.i'll have paddys off...and then wdnesday off too although got to watch the little one in the parade and then court on wednesday(the gards seem to have a different opinion as to what speeding is)...so i'll have a little more time this week.......ohhhhhh powder blue havent seen him and i want him already....ringing seahorse in the morning....ive loads of stamps..going to get this one for free.....going make sure hes eating first though

There is a lovely Pb in seahorse galway in case it's not in the Dublin store, they could ship it back up. Looks great and healthy.
