Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

It comes with tropical back round, heater, filter, plant( not real ), stones and a cave too.
I have had the tank for 4months and all together it cost 130euro
Its a great tank for beginers, for breeding, hospital tank, for fry or speiceman tank ( ie. dwarf puffers) she wasnt open to the idea of the two tanks.
If any one is interested im selling the whole lot for 50euro and i can organise to meet anyone interested.
Ill be able to sell it in 2 weeks after i transfer fish into my new tank.
Alan

Was looking foward to havin the little puffers after reading some of the other posts and seeing pics of them grrrrrrrrrrrrr.........

As for you doing all the cleaning on the tank, what did you expect!! Its your hobby, and tell me truthfully would you trust her with your fish! lol....
(Before you accuse me of being sexist, its the same the other way around if its the female with the hobby ie. Valerie,Mrs F and many more female members!!).
I remember heading away on a friends stag some months ago and Id a very sick molly who had symptoms of mouth fungus and was very ill looking,(I suspect it was internal bacteria),anyhow Id specific treatment set up in the quarantine tank and precise details on how and when to do it left with my girlfriend. I had the quarantine tank and everything ready on the Thursday and was leaving on the Friday morning. When Friday came the poor molly had passed away, when I told herself she despartely tried to keep in the smile on her face, not because she was glad the fish was dead but because she didnt have to treat it and have to explain to me after a weekend of stag booze that my molly had died!! So I think you know what I mean by having to clean the tank yourself, I wouldnt let someone else do it if I thought they werent sure what they were doing!!!
Anyhow Im straying from the topic now, sorry! Yeah try and keep the tank as a quarantine tank, even if its under the bed for half the year!
Gavin

well the upside to her not being there is you dont have to hear the constant moanig and ur not that fu*king fish forum again.
Oh and if she ever went near my tank to clean it i would snap....

And on the puffers how can anyone not like them i bet if they were pink and covered in sparkles it would be a different story.ha ha ha ha but pink and sparkly fish is a whole other story

Her actual words were "get it sure you could be dead tomorrow".....
you sure that wasn't a thinly veiled threat?
