Two Interesting reports

Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

The Killifish were on documentary a while back, bbc or most likely nat geo or discovery. The fish were in amongst the tree roots popping their heads out, funniest thing ever.
As for the Pacu rep, this craic is happening all over the world with different species n plants ect. All this will be over shadowed by the fact that in 100 years we'll all be living in boats, well those of us left. Fish will pretty much rule the world as the seas are going to rise about 80m in that time.
Will have to get me a "Dolphin plasty"

Sounds like it's time to start "Ark-Building" then.
Mind you, there were times this last Autumn/Early Winter that I was checking the Ordnance Surveys to see where the closest Mountains were (a bit of a fib really, I can see the Slieve Bloom mountains across the fields) and had the boat on standby.

This city slicker has no boat, maybe I can purchase a seat on yours when the tides come a knocking?
I'll pay now before the demand goes up thanks:o

I guess it's just the ebb and flow, we are just part of the natural system, we too shall pass and be part of the " remember when? "

I dont think so Kev. Personally, I think we are in it for the long haul. We, are self aware and can change the environment to suit our needs and can plan ahead and foresee dangers and possible outcomes to our actions. Our population has increased by 4 billion since the 40's. Gotta be doing something right huh? Im pretty optimistic that if we can change our attitude towards how we impact on what is around us, we will be around for a very, very long time. Well heres hoping anyway... Back on topic, nice find John, thanks for sharing.

were on apath we can't change.
Less Ice more sea more sea more heat more heat less ice less ice more sea more sea ect.
If emissions were 0% tomorrow thee is still nothing to stopt he increase of temp.
ALl the ice will melt, heat will make massive cloud storms from evap and pretty much over time block out a lot of sun light and then a freeze is the next. Cycle complete, exstinction event complete.
