180 litre freshwater community setup
×
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Hi,
I have a 180l Delta Queen tank
Fish;
12neons
8 small fish I know name of. Same size as neons, orange and black strip on sides
2 danios
3 rainbow fish
1 redtail shark
1 balloon mollie
2 silver mollies
3 mollies
2 Pearl gourami
2 angel fish
3 amano shrimp
1 freshwater clam
1 pleco
1 gold dojo loach
2 guppies
1 blue gourami
They all get on great! Had 1 big silver gourami that killed off about 6 of any new fish I got so I got rid of him, any questions let me know or any advice is apprietiated!

Welcome John. I am also a 'newbie' and am surprised at the wealth of information that can be obtained just by reading the old posts! David.

Welcome on board John
think you might have a overstock/compatibility problem there. The redtail shark can be a contrary little fella and the pleco will probably outgrow that tank sooner rather than later, some of the gouramis can be dodgy too. I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable members will put you right. Good luck anyway

Beautiful looking tank, with some lovely looking fish.
From experience, I'd keep an eye on your livebearers (mollies), as very quickly 20 fish could turn into 50

. Fry are lovely to watch, but take a lot of looking after before they can go to their new homes.
Helen

Hi everybody! Thanks for the warm welcome!
Hi Helen, I've had the mollies about 5 mints now and no fry yet! The silver mollies are male and female, any ideas why they wouldn't be havin them?
Hi Christ thanks for the advice, I've had the red tail for about 4 months now, he may be showing signs of aggression with the rainbow fish so I'll keep and eye on him, and the pleco hasn't seem to have changed size in 4 months, I don't feed him too much
Thanks
John
