Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

A good selection of marine and freshwater fish. The guy in charge, Andy, seems to know what he is talking about.
Andy said he will have more stuff set up in the next couple of weeks.
In the spirit of supporting a new LFS got 5 rainbows for €20. Can't say fairer than that.

He does a 24 hour quarantine....not sure if this is enough, maybe someone else can comment on it.
But he's friendly and was appreciative that people are ITFS forum.
More importantly, he gave me a 10% discount voucher.
For those of you wanting marine, he has a dog faced puffer for €70....it ugly in an endearing sort of way

Its actually inside the shopping centre....go in the back way from the car park and its just inside the door

Hopefully Andy will join the form and I will give him his own sponsors section. He was waiting on his broadband. Must give him a ring.

i took a trip up to andys yesterday, the shop is really cool, i went on the right day too because when i was there he told me he was expecting his stock at any minute and he asked me if i wanted to hang around for a while, im glad i did because i got to see how all the fish and coral are shipped and i seen the way they stock the tanks and that:) , very interesting;)
he now has loads of new stock and is expecting more soon i think
the prices are good as well, i think its 12 euro for a clown fish which is the best ive come across, he has fire shrimps and cleaners and loads of different fish, i havent seen half of them before besides on the internet,
he done a great deal on 2 corals a free star fish and some frozen food (thanks andy)
i would recommend this shop to anyone, marines or fresh water, but specfically the marines

Post edited by: buleetu, at: 2007/07/12 16:51
