Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Super job James it looks absolutely fin-tastic you must be really chuffed with yourself on a such an accomplishment, not only have you got a super aquarium to work with and enjoy but knowing you made it all from scratch must add to the whole enjoyment.

I be happy when I do the final touch its near there now and just missing something the white is a bad idea with the kids might go for a dark colour the cichlids love the extra space they are digging now and making them self home I am also seeing catfish that would normally hide. Only problem now is what next a big project is needed lol

Sort that pond of yours out!!!!!

Im sure you could make it a few ft deeper and taper back the edges a bit more!

You know it makes sense!!!!!

Pseudotropheus flavus breeding for the first time.
I tried to get it on my phone but it went dead.
Lucky enough my girlfriends galaxy tab was charged so i got to record all the action.
The kids were just gone out shopping and i had the house all to myself.
It was great seeing this for my first time,
The only thing is cartoons were on the TV lol
She has a nice big mouth full
It has been a tough few months so hopefully luck will turn my way

Congratulations, that is some achievement.

Kev.

The Glass is always greener on the other side.

It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!

Congratulations, that is some achievement.

Kev.

I am very happy with the way its coming along,
its still a learning curve for me my did skill are not the best
compared to some projects that i seen here but on a budget
i turned out good. Anyone that has seen in in person seems to love it and one lad from
a few nights changed his mind and now wants to do a setup like mine.

i had some wood left over from another job and decided to make a hood bad points its like the bonnet of a car it has to be lifted up for feeding and turning on and off the lights its very light so not all that hard to lift. I still have a small bit to do and it will be finished
