Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Looking if anyone has any mbuna cichlids for sale. Wife had twins so the last few weeks were mad and the next 18 years are not going to be much different:laugh:
Due to this i can,t seem to get any time to visit any fish shops and usually what they have in stock are to big for what i want. I am looking for junville mbuna cichlids, ideally between 2" or 3" but definitely not fully grown fish.
As i said i haven,t got any spare time to go to Lfs in the hope of getting something so hopefully some cichlid keepers here will have a few junvilles for sale, well i hope so !!!
Cheers

You say HIM Mickey, do you know the sex??
Is this your first?
Wish you and the missus all the best on your new arrival, the deliverly ward is definitely a place i will never forget but for all the good reasons, it was nothing like i seen on the tv, it was actually quite relaxed in there, well most of the time:laugh:
If i had one tip to give you Mickey, it is to be just there for your missus as best you can, support her, give encouragment, talk to her, as the gift she is about to give you makes all the crap going on in the country at the moment irrelavent and any stress, worries in life just fad away.
Also you know she has a free licence to call you any name under the sun, and she can release any "issues" that might have being bugging her for the last 10 years:blush:
Best of Luck again Mickey to you and your partner

u would be better taking at least 4 to 6 of each of these species or if big enough to tell gender, i male to 2 females etc.
i am sure 2poc would agree.
with most fish the males grow at a quicker rate than females, so even when v small u can have a good guess at gender.

It gets worse.. Amazing how much space a baby takes up in the bed - especially if they like to sleep sideways like my little darling.
Derek is right - at least 3 of each I would say.
The labeotropheus are big enough to be sexed now, the flavus can't easily be sexed by eye.
Sure let me know whatever you want, I'll give them to you FOC as a fatherhood present
