Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

In the spirit of being Irish we have had complaints that other shops are telling customers that our fish are not half price and that we are just saying this to get customers up and then charge full price........Shame Shame Shame....u gotta smile all the same.As i stated before all our regular stock ie stuff we directly bring in goes on half price status...stuff that we get from customers and specimen xl stuff is excluded from the offer....that leaves 90 percent of our stuff on sale....
Check out this marine list for instance:
Percula clownfish M €10-
Tomato clownfish L 32.50
Green chromis M €6.00
Marine betta M €62.50
Convict blenny S €12.50
Blue cheek sleeper goby M €12.50
Cleaner wrasse M €12.50
Blue regal tang S €30.00
Sailfin tang M 32.50
Volitan lionfish S €25.00
Fu manchu lionfish XL €32.50
Dogface pufferfish M €32.50
Niger trigger M €25.00
Blue chin triggerfish M male €32.50
Foxface M €32.50
Crocodilefish 10" €62.50
Snowflake moray eel S €25.00
Blue spot stingray 12" disc €87.50

If u know your marines then €6 for chromis and €10 for clowns is way under half price...we are selling regal tangs for €30 .....

as well as this it is important for customers to note that we are selling most of our tetras etc for 1.50.....our retail is 2.95....and we dont sell small invisible fish for this price we sell xlarge specimens most of the time....but its good to know people havenot forgotten about us and that good news travels fast......a lot of customers will benefit from these promotions hopefully it will keep some of them from shopping accross the border and in the uk......By the way we are musing over the possibility of of opening up a new fish house on site to cater for a greater range of marines and inverts and more specialist stuff like apistos and shrimp n stuff so we will see how that progresses....more blooody work....mmmmmmm.....the thoughts of cleaning another 200 tanks doesnt appeal to me at the moment....

Cheers everyone for ur time we will post as many offers up as we can .....
