Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Hi guys,
I got rid of my kribs as they were not getting along and for the sake of having a peace full tank i decided to stick with just some small fishes.so i went and got some rummy nose tetra's.I only have one setup so dont have a quarantine tank.so i just popped them in.within a day one of them was dead, the body looked perfect cant see any signs of disease.so far 3 of them have died, and tonight one of my neon tetra's was looking worst for wear.the red color has all but disappeared from him, but other than that there are no other signs of anything wrong.Any idea's or help on this would be great, i didnt see any point in posting pic's as there seems to be nothing visibly wrong with the fish.but if ye guys think it might help just let me know any ill get out the camera.
Cheers Stuart.

Hi Stuart.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this is definitely the case here.... let's face it... Rummies are the worst Fish in the world for transmitting two things... White spot and Neon tetra Disease, I should know, I have lost tons of these to those maladies, the typical tell-tale signs are fish swimming out of the Shoal and in the case of Neon tetra Disease, a white, discoloured saddle-like patch behind the Dorsal Fin, you can add meds but first, remove any Fish showing signs of sickness and dispose of them, NTD can be transmitted to other Fish that may feed off the Dead Fish, then try eSHa 2000 for the NTD and eSHa Exit for the White Spot, do the usual increase in temp thing and I wish you the best of luck.

Ok kev cheers, I have had NTD in my tank before and know what it looks like and i cant see any signs of it in the dead fish, no white spot either. im stumped at what it could be.But it goes without saying that any fish looking sick will be removed and i will treat the tank first thing.
Cheers Stuart.
