How does this look ?

Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Hi All
My new set-up. It’s a corner tank with a 3D background.
I was wondering the best position for the outlet , inlet and heater for my shape tank.
Effectively I've positioned the heater under the outlet pipe, The outlet pipe is facing against the side as per the picture.
What ye think? Is this ok before I silicone it and be stuck with it fore ever:
Thanks

I hate saying this but if you Silicone it in position and you get an LF Green warning light you will be really annoyed with yourself, I had two of these and it constantly flashed Green with LF in the window which, if you don't already know, is, Low Flow.
( Sorry, I'm jumping the Gun here ) What exactly are you going to silicone?
Kev.

I was thinking about this allrite but I was hoping by positioning the heater under the outflow there would be strong enough current so I don’t get the LF message.
I have to silicone the suction cups (heater & pipes) as they won't stick to the 3D Background without them.

Siliconing the Suckers will be difficult given the background is 3D can you use a one sided Stanly knife/ Blade to cut enough out of the background to let the Heater stick to the Background?

instead of using the suction cups inside the tank use them on the hose out side the tank to hold the inlet/outlet in place.
For the heater use a small cable tie and fix it to the intake.

Cable tie all the way. Will keep it in place. Great suggestion Darren on the suction cups on the outside of the tank.

I really like the idea of the suction cups on the outside
Would the cable ties be safe wrapped around the heater? I'd be afraid they would melt or something.
Another concern I would also have is the heater would be suspended by its lead - I'm not too sure if that makes a difference though.

Darren Dalton is the Master of innovation and invention, fair play D.
The protective cage around the heater keeps it from melting, otherwise the cage would melt too.
