Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

cheers Ger & Chris

I have a few bits and pieces in that tank for hiding places

I'll have to set something quick up for the Babies, I have about 3 to 4 weeks i'd say to have a tank ready with loads of small pieces of tubing etc. etc. for them to hide in and grow out a bit...

can't wait, this will be the second time for them to breed for me
need to set something up or most of them will be scoffed

yeah, the white Clarkii are class
I'm after getting fairly fond of the Crayfish
I have the white Clarkii a while now and recently got some Orange ones aswell
I'd love to have a set-up for a few different types of Crayfish, the Cobalt Blue are lovely aswell...

Here's a few pix I've taken over time since I've had the white Clarkii

the original Female

this is when the Babies first started to leave the Mother but didn't go too far initially and returning back under Her tail from time to time...

a little later on in their development and in a different tank at that stage

Cheers

I'll get on to Ya when the Baby white Clarkii are big enough to move a few of them on if Ya want ?

I'm going to do my best to get some cobalt blue and red ones aswell
they are very interesting when breeding and are cool in the aquarium aswell, only thing is that they would eat any plants You might want to have in the Tank...

I'm half thinking of changing My Rio 240 into a tank for the Crayfish Babies to Grow in but I'd have to move on a lot of fish and a couple of nice plants etc. etc.
I'm not sure what to do, I'm in two minds about it ???

they ate a load of anubias on me and a few other plants, i didn't mind too much at the time and just let them eat away...
i think they would eat most if not all of the plants that went into the tank...
i wouldn't put any in unless you didn't mind them been eaten, they got through the anubius very quickly...
