tri-lobed fern??
×
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

does anyone remember them?? they looked like shamrocks but nearly certain they were a type of fern (as in grow the same and attach to decor)? haven't seen them for sale in lfs in a couple of years i'd say and was wondering why... were they just not a popular choice that they weren't stocked? also anyone remember the name because I've searched for it for the purpose of this topic but was unsuccessful...

sorry justin its not windelov because i have some of that on bogwood and have confirmed its not
neither is it the result you found in Google john although i kept getting the same result through my searches.
the reason i ask is because i use to have it in 1 of my tanks until a few months back when i moved all plants into a 4foot. it then disappeared but while doing a large cleanup of that tank today i found a small plantlet of it amoungst my java fern plantlets... couldn't believe my luck considering its the 1 plant i haven't seen in a long time and 1 of my favorites lol. it grows about 8" tall with 3 large leaves extending from the top just the same as a clover but about the size of an anubias barteri each. it grows from a rhimzone and grows plantlets identical to java fern.... i attached my plantlet to coconut shell and is very small but i'll see if i can get a photo of it tomorrow....

Oh well, can't be right all of the time, or in my case any of the time!!!
I'm interested to see this myself.
I do remember having something along those lines years ago in England, but never knew what it was called.

Just noticed ck1 has a pic of a plant that has three lobes as such.
It appears to be 3 pieces making one leaf as opposed to three pieces on the end of one leaf.
