Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Front and centre is a Pseudacanthicus, but which one?
There are at least 2 L014 Scobinancistrus aureatus in there. One is closest to the Pseudacanthicus.
There is a Oxydoras/platydoras or something there as well. The well armoured catfish that jumps in half way through the video.

as for the rest i dont know.

Certainly lively in there, a bit crowded but the fish look in great health though, not my ideal setup but I'd like some of those catfish in my tank.

Whats the dealio with the guy pullin on the pleco, he alright in the head or what? We know they suck onto things already dunno what he's tryin to show, strange things for a keeper to be doin if this is a regular occurance.

Tank is way too crowded but the fish seem to have adapted behaviour wise. No room for error in a tank that packed thats for sure, some filtration required too. Still I want his fish:)

Many BNs Mick, L111s have spawned removed the eggs yesterday morning, wating for hte second spawn now so hopefully soon lots of L111s swimming about:) Many others from 1" to 4".

need a few IDs on some new additions but the fishroom is intentionally very dim lit so I need a decent camera.

Anyone know what size Rustys reach maturity at, my female 7" and the male 6". Would like to try these next if all goes well.

Yeah was hoping they'd be breeding before they reached full size.

Will be a whilw so, One of my emperor tetras looks seriously gravid so might try those, got me a few Eheim Eccos to use as peat filters to give me a bit of better control, very handy filter to use as a controller filter only 6w.

Thats a nice piece of equipment. The six line air pump will come in handy also in the fish room. The Rusty's max out at 12" or so but may well become sexually mature before that. However, as far as I know there hasnt been a reported case of them breeding in the home aquarium. I could be mistaken, but I contemplated keeping these when I was into cats, and I seem to remember them being part of the long list of plecs that are difficult or impossible to get to breed. Worth looking into...

Cheers matey, hadn't researched but assumed as they were readily available. Not as easy as I thought it would be. A lot of research needed before even thinking about attempting, when my water skills are improved then I may think about thinking about it:)
