Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

My names Neil
I'm 31 with a wife, 2 lil kids and a couple of fish tanks in the house.....
My own tank is a Triton 350, currently stocked with 2 sevrums, 3 (supposed to be 4 but 1s missing the last 2 or 3 days) convicts, 3 Pecos (variousdenominationsof) an electric blue jack d, a jewel cichlid a Texas cichlid a salvini and my beloved favourite fish the green terror
Plus my 2 scavanger cobalt blue cray fish (great lil hungers to keep)
Filtration is 1 API nexx with customized filter sponges and ceramic noodle setup with extention and a fluval 206 canister
1x300w heater keeping everything constant at about 26.5 degrees
Only thing needed is power head for a bit more circulation and a few new plants
My sons tank is my old trigon 190
Current stock is guppies, molllys, plattys, sword tails, Siamese fighter male (quiet fella) a small brissle nose pleco and a loach
I'm trying to decide what to put in there for a bit of colour and interest.......
Filtration is a aqua one 1050 with a custom made 'spray bar'
Hospital tank is a very small 15-20 litre tank, currently looking after a very sick fire mouth in there..... poor lad got serious attack on Wednesday while I was at work, tail fin almost non exist ant, dorsal fin took a battering, anal fins not in great shape.... lucky fish to be alive in all fairness!
Seems to be lively enough now, but was touch and go for a day and a bit....... not sure if he will ever come back to full health tho tbh
Spare tank (currently not in use) a small 60 litre with a eheim 2213 filter
This is to probably ly be gifted to my nephew and niece as they love what I have here and they are showing decent interest
(Might as well start them off you g)
Trying to convince she who holds the purse strings that we need a nice 400 litre marine tank in the house somewhere too
Have her considering the option now at least..... which means the constant "NOOOOOO" has at least subsided

Hi Hammie, I'm on the look out for a Trigon 350 myself, how do you find it as a tank ?for say , maintenance , accessibility , floor space? And do you find the convex face distorts the view of the fish?
Cheers Stuart.

Great on floor space,
I need to stand on a chair to reach the back of the tank,
and to do any work on the tank.
Curved front can give distortion, but you do get used to it.
I removed the filter-box and added an external.
There is a great sense of depth in the tank.
You do need to have the substrate much deeper at the back, or you
Will have an optical illusion of the substrate sloping away.
Personally I hate the flimsy plastic flaps.

Trigons are fantastic tanks especially the 350
Floor space wise they are great, roughly 3 ft from back to front corners, as said, take out the internal filter and it helps a lot with space, the 350 distorts view slightly, but nowhere near as much as the 190
If your ever up this way, don't be afraid to call in and have a look for yourself before you purchase!
As said flimsy flaps are slightly annoying, but not the biggest complaint over all!
Great storage room under the tank in the cabnite, as said above, I have 2externals in there and still loads of room for the rest of my crap
I font get the illusion of the tank sloping away towards the back, but that's cause I have a lot of wood hiding the floor space
Maintenance on them is handy enough, just think carefully. About where you place inlets and outlets for filters and consider a power head from the get go......
You won't regret a Triton IMO
If I see 1 I'll throw you a pm

Was kinda stuck for space myself which is why I went the trigon route.......
I went to see 4 or 5 before I got this 1!!!!! Most were in bad bad shape, but this 1 has been well looked after

Done a bit of re-arranging this afternoon
Thinking of getting another power head to try getting a bit better circulation right round the tank!
Honestly I think its the only drawback with corner units.....
