Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

I guesssed it might have been Dan, about the only busker on Grafton St I have never spoken to or managed a decent photo of - he never lifts his head!!

Yeah He's a quite modest, but he's been a fixture on Grafton St for the past 15 years or so. Although I can appreciate why he never looks up, he plays some seriously advanced guitar. An excellent musician in my book and a great addition to Grafton St 's atmosphere.

The cowboy looking guy who plays Slide ragtime blues with the guitar on his lap is also brilliant. I love buskers but sadly in Dublin beyond these two and a few more there is mostly terrible musicians busking .
If I hear someone busking Knocking on heaven's door one more time i'll go crazy!

Nice lists Puggy & Andrew - Queen, REM, Michael Jakson - actually I like most of the bands on those lists.

And most importantly of all.. Bon Jovi is not on them ;)

I can't stand them

Yeah Lads ....I do like my music, was goin to go to Saxon tomorrow in Dublin but my son has to study for his leaving cert also the manics are playing the Olympia in June but he has his maths paper 2 the next day....so he's not going to make it....god in my day we wern't so diligent....

yeah mickey....Rammstein...Haven't a clue what they are singing about but with them visuals...do you need to.

Sean ...Linkin Park ...Yep thats them " Numb,Encore" with Jay Z...you can find it on the album "Collision Course" not my favorite band first time I seen them they supported metallica and they got bottled off the stage but I enjoyed them ... never was into bottling the stage .....If you dont like a band then go off and find something else to do......crowds at Donnington and Reading festivals used to have a habit of pi**ing into 2 Ltr bottles which were then launched towards the stage....Not a good thing if you were up the front and their aim was poor.

Alan 68 ...when did you see Whitesnake....? first time I seen them was ....back around 1982..? Come an Get it Tour ....met them all at the gresham hotel and got my photo with David Coverdale and Jon Lord also got to meet one of my Heroes Cozy Powell ....what a drummer...the man was a gentleman
