Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Hi all.... drop down to last paragraph for my question.
What a week, i purchased a trigon190 a few weeks back, and used celbrum oxide to buff the scratches out. my electric drill was too fast so i purchased a (9volt 16euro from woodies)battery operated drill for slower speeds (and happy days it did the job). ive been running two filters in my 150 liter to bring the new filter up to speed, and when it came to filling my trigon i didnt have enough length on my tube to run it straight from the tap, so i dasychained from my tap to my 150 and used the trigon filter to take water from the 150 straight to the trigon, keeping an eye on the 150 water level when my phone ran, :hammer: the water only got up to the horizontal glass shelf , but enough for the turtle to escape in the 5 minute window. for 5 hours i blamed the cat and turned the house upside down, he turned up in the bathroom being licked by the cat  ( im certain she hid him, i know a guilty face ) phew...... anyway,,,,, the cold water brought on my angelfish breeding which is basically my female attacking my male non stop untill he lost an eye, luckly he's now in the trigon with 5 tetra and 2 zebra danio (one of the zebra danio is attacking his fins etc) going to remove them back to the 150.

anywho
would i be correct in thinking that "some" holiday pyramid food releases nutrients straight into the water?
i have a pack here but its labeled "real fish food inside)
or
how do i force feed him?
i have melafx in there ATM,

Umpsfar, sorry, I don't know your real name, but, I'm going through a bad patch at the moment and am not my self these days but that just gave me the lift I needed, I read it and couldn't help breaking into a Smile, that is so funny, regarding feeding him, if I read your post correctly, mind is tending to wander at the moment, I'd give Bloodworm a go, they, to fish, seem irresistible.

Kev.
