Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

Thanks lads
@Alan
I got the plants a few few different place over the last few months and had most off them.in a Rio 180 that I was growing them in they when big enough I moved them to the clearseal

Ah it as already got.to the stage as its all about the plants its like haven a marine tank.the money u spend on it ha

The substrate is all oliver Knott

As for the water changes I haven always like to do lots off water changes as for me it has always worked as in.I have never got one bot off alage in any tank.I.ever had but y so many in this tank.is not only for the plants but cause the discus release hermoans into the water that stunts growth so helps with this and also cause they are so young I am feedin 3 ta 4 small.feed a day so help clean.up that always

Maybe its a bit much but works for me so just do.it like this

Fantastic set up Sean.
The water changes must be killing your back. What are you using on the new water? Is your tap water good or have you a ro unit?
Keep the pics coming.

just another lil update

i added the lights and reflectors to the hood finally

i also tidied the cables up in the cabinet so noe all cables and plugs are neat and labeled and also have easy access to switches witch is handy when doing water changes

i am dealing with a bit off some sort off algae on the surface as in like a brown slim any ideas?

thanks

Sean

It sure was after the first month or so you get over the bit extra on the bill but you really do notice it when the tank is broke down

Greg not a photo i think that photos are just doing it all by them self's ha as i always say a bit off TLC and anyone can have a lovely looking tank

I am starting to miss the tank after updating this ha

The only issue i have is im never happy i always get something going and then want to change it ha its being the same the last 3 tanks

Thanks lads and would love to see a IRISH FISH TANK KINGS
