Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

I live @ Edenderry and have to drive around to pet shops hunt for fish, by d time I see the fish- come home search online- go back to the pet shop, the fish will be gone. they change stocking very fast.
So really need help with a list of fish that would survive with the angle, I'll do the research online, have an idea of what fish I can get, then shop around see it get it.
Please help

Just to warn ya 80L is a pretty small tank so your pretty limited to that amount of fish and type of fish. An Angel fish and clown loaches wont suit a 80L long term. Clown loaches do best in large groups in 500-800L + tanks. 140-160L would be minimum for a single adult angel fish (They are big fish)...
Here is some info and pics of massive cloan loaches
www.loaches.com/species-index/clown-loac...mobotia-macracanthus
If you want loaches there are much smaller variety's (Browse around the above website for info on loaches) ... Kuhli loaches would be the best choice for a 80L.
If you want cichlids there are loads of dwarf variety's that would suit a 80L... Apitogramma, rams, kribs etc..
When i first started i must of had at least 30 fish in the same size tank

It takes awhile to get a handle on what fish are compatible and what are their water requirements etc.One of the sponsors has a fish compatibility chart on their website you might want to look it up.Corys wouldn't be a good option for your tank as they do well in groups of 5 or more, the clown loaches you were talking about get way too big for your size tank. For small bottom feeders i have some hillstream loaches and armano shrimp. The angel fish you have now is probably too big for your current setup as it is. If i were you i'd clear all current fish from tank, get a shoal of neon/cardinal tetra's and some bottom feeders like the ones mentioned above. With the size and shape of your tank i cant think of any feature fish you could have that wont out grow the setup pretty quickly. The tetra's will provide lots of movement and color in the top to mid and the shrimp and loaches will do same for the bottom. But really i would look into to getting a bigger setup or just a more standard shape tank.
Cheers Stuart.
